It seems as if though the WWE has a love affair with the Scottrade Center in Saint Louis, Missouri (home of the NHL’s Saint Louis Blues) in recent years as the Scottrade Center has hosted plenty of pay-per-views as well as numerous episodes of RAW and to a lesser extent, SmackDown.

And so, let’s look back at some of the Scottrade Center’s greatest moments in WWE history:

Badd Blood: In Your House (1997)

The Scottrade Center, then known as the Kiel Center, first hosted a WWE (then known as WWF) pay-per-view when it hosted Badd Blood: In Your House. The main event was the very first Hell In A Cell match that saw Shawn Michaels defeat The Undertaker following a distraction from Kane. It also featured Owen Hart defeated Faarooq to win the Intercontinental Championship tournament. The PPV received five stars from Dave Meltzer, a fete that would never be accomplished until the 2011 Money In The Bank PPV highlighted by the John Cena versus CM Punk match.

RAW is Owen (1999)

A day after the Over The Edge PPV which saw Owen Hart suffered a fatal injury, the Kiel Center hosted a very special tribute to Hart during Monday Night RAW. It scored an incredible 7.2 rating.

Elimination Chamber (2010)

Once native son Randy Orton became a huge Superstar, the WWE began to take the Scottrade Center very seriously as a top venue for its PPVs, much like Chicago’s Allstate Arena did for CM Punk. Thus, it began Vince McMahon’s solid relationship with the Scottrade Center as it would host a PPV every year since (with the exception of 2011). The first of these was the 2010 Elimination Chamber PPV that saw John Cena winning the Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship only to lose it to Batista, who was chosen by Vince McMahon as punishment for Cena who supported McMahon’s archrival Bret Hart at the time.

Royal Rumble (2012)

After a one year hiatus, the Scottrade Center entered the WWE PPV calendar once again as it hosted the Royal Rumble. Sheamus won the Royal Rumble match.

RAW’s 1000th Episode (2012)

After hosting the Royal Rumble PPV, the Scottrade Center was chosen to host RAW‘s historic 1000th episode, which was highlighted by appearances from The Rock, D-Generation X, Rowdy Roddy Piper, and many others. The main event was the John Cena versus CM Punk match for the WWE Championship which saw CM Punk turn heel, setting up his match against The Rock at the 2013 Royal Rumble.

Extreme Rules (2013)

In 2013, the Scottrade Center once again hosted a WWE PPV, this time the Extreme Rules PPV which was highlighted by the Brock Lesnar versus Triple H steel cage match in a rematch of their match at WrestleMania 29 a month earlier.

Survivor Series (2014)

This Sunday, the Scottrade Center will host the Survivor Series PPV which will be highlighted by Team Cena versus Team Authority where should Team Authority lose, then Triple H and Stephanie McMahon would lose their booking power.

With the Scottrade Center averaging 18,000 fans for its WWE PPVs, don’t be surprised if it hosts a PPV in 2015. Expect either Money In The Bank or Night of Champions as the likely events.
