The Crystal Ball: My Predictions For The WWE Between Now And WrestleMania 31, Part II

After making some of my predictions for the WWE between now and WrestleMania 31, I decided to make some more predictions on what will happen during that time, from main roster debuts to pushes to (gasp!) more main roster cuts.

And so without further delay, here are my predictions:

John Cena ends Rusev’s winning ways.

Almost everyone, from R-Truth to Mark Henry to Jack Swagger to most recently The Big Show, have tried and failed to end Rusev’s winning ways. However, I expect Rusev to feud with John Cena in the very near future. Considering that Cena is Vince McMahon’s security blanket, look for Cena to be the first WWE Superstar to win Rusev in the process.

A shocking name will lead the next round of main roster cuts.

The WWE will announce its third quarter financial results this Thursday, expect the WWE to trim even more unwanted fat from its main roster perhaps as soon as this Friday. Expect lesser-used talent like Zack Ryder, Fandango, David Otunga, and Emma to be the likely targets for release, but I do expect a shocking name to get “future endeavored” as well.

Although Cesaro has been a favorite of the IWC, he does not seem to be a favorite of Vince McMahon’s and just like Sheldon Benjamin before him, look for the King of Swing to get released from the WWE.

No one from NXT will be called up to the main roster.

Even though the NXT has many talented wrestlers on its roster which includes the likes of Sami Zayn, Adrian Neville, The Ascension, Charlotte, and most recently, Hideo Itami and Finn Balor, don’t expect these names to be promoted to the main roster any time soon for a number of reasons. One, recent NXT callups like Xavier Woods, Bo Dallas and Adam Rose have failed to make an impression on the main roster and two in The Ascension’s case, it seems that WWE Officials have been very happy with the way that Stardust and Goldust have been playing their roles as of late.

Seth Rollins will fail to cash in his MITB contract.

Seth Rollins has become The Authority’s “New Face of the WWE” ever since he turned on his Shield teammates Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns last June. Even though I expect Brock Lesnar to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 31 against The Rock, I look for Lesnar to drop the title at the next PPV against, you guessed it, John Cena. I expect Rollins to cash in on Cena but just like Damien Sandow before him, unsuccessful.
