The Weekly Pipebomb
So Survivor Series has been and gone, and while I didn’t hate the show, I certainly hated the main event. I found myself wanting neither Reigns or Ambrose to be champ and certainly not Sheamus. I just can’t see Ambrose as a champion. I think he is great and I want great things for him but I can’t see him as the number one guy. He seemed like he was just going through the motions in this match with Reigns and there was no urgency. Reigns could really do with more time also. So who does this leave for the main event??
Rollins getting injured was devastating as I think he was doing a great job despite the horrible booking. When he returns I would like to see him as a babyface. When Reigns won the title and all the confetti was spraying down I was begging for Brock Lesnar to appear and f5 the hell out of Reigns, setting up a feud that could have ran through to the Rumble maybe?!
So Cesaro is out for 6 months or so. When he returns what do we want to see? I think it’ll be same old but lets use our imaginations for a second. Should he come back as a different character? El Cesaro as part of the mexican story perhaps? Or Cesaro Sectioned and he can be crazy? He is fantastic in the ring and although I’m clearly joking here, I want to see Cesaro push on as when he returns I feel it will be a now or never moment. I want to see him interfere in the wwe title picture when he returns.
With everyone constantly bashing the wwe and the format of the show and the terrible booking decisions I thought I would jump on the bandwagon. I know they want Reigns to be huge and if they just leave him be to get on on his own he will be, but the decisions they make are going to kill him in the long run. When he predictably won the title at SS I think the best option would have been to give him at least a month or two with the belt as it gets this test out of the way before Wrestlemania. If they shove him down everyone’s throats again and give him the title at Wrestlemania it could be more damaging in the long run. I really hope he pushes on because I want these new young’uns to step up and go for it and replace the likes of Show, Kane, Orton etc.
The Wyatts. My god what a chance to build an incredibly strong group. You have Harper and Rowan who are a great tag team. You have Strowman who is a huge beast of a man and then of course Bray who I will admit is my fave. He can cut a promo but I think he can put on a great match and is intriguing. So at Survivor Series why the hell didn’t Kane and Undertaker put them over? This could have been the passing of the torch that these new stars need. But instead they get beaten with no real fanfare or comeback. End of the day Taker and Kane win and nothing progresses. Chances like this need to be taken as in a few years we aren’t going to have any main event stars who we can truly believe in. Another example would be Rusev against Cena and again, Owens against Cena. It always appears the same with Cena – the new star will win the first match but then lose the second or the feud ending match an then they get knocked down a few pegs.
I’m wondering when Raw will hit four hours! No just kidding. Let’s get back down to two hours or at least change the format of the show. Too many replays and adverts. I was never a fan of the brand split many years ago but maybe it would be good for the product, IF it was done correctly. That’s the huge problem with this though. Wwe never does much correctly. Such a huge pool of wrestlers and they cant even sort Smackdown out. For everyone wanting a split I would have thought sort Smackdown out first would be the best move.
