Welcome back. In this list, some of these WTF moments are based from good angles and bad angles, some are based purely on stupidity. For there own reasons these moments are what keep us fans wanting more. A WTF moment could happen at anytime and for a number of different reasons.

Here are my Top 5 WTF Moments:

Enjoy.

#5 Brock Lesnar Ends The Undertaker’s WM Undefeated Streak.

Brock Lesnar’s breaking of the Undertaker’s steak was a true WTF moment. Time stood still for a good 5 or 10 minutes. The crowds reaction mirrored everyone sat watching at home, mouths open hands on head stunned into silence. Some in disbelief and some really pissed that it had been ended by the beast incarnate Brock Lesnar.

It was thought that Taker himself decided the streak needed to end but Brock did not want to be the one to end it. At An Evening with Shawn Michaels” in the UK, Jim Ross claims Brock told Vince that he did not want to end the streak. Michael’s admits that he wasn’t a fan of the decision, and neither was JR. JR talked about Brock Lesnar not wanting to beat the streak and asking to lose the match, but the decision had already been made.

#4 Vince McMahon’s Dies In An Explosion.

A week or two before the Chris Benoit tragedy, Vince McMahon had apparently been killed in his limousine. The limo had been blown to pieces on an episode of Raw and McMahon was presumably dead. Obviously, we knew this was a work but we was intrigued with it’s outcome. However, immediately after this incident there was a media frenzy. Due to the fact that WWE were treating this as 100% real, a lot of sources detached from wrestling reported it as real and the Stamford offices even got phone calls from business partners offering their condolences for Vince McMahon. Very bizarre.

Although we never got to see this played out due to the Benoit tragedy, the storyline plan was to have Vince return in the summer claiming that he faked his own death. He was then going to reveal an accomplice with several names being mentioned. Mr. Kennedy was a top candidate for the role as WWE wanted to build a monster heel character.

#3 WWE Buys It’s Competition, WCW.

For fans, the Monday Night Wars represented the most exciting time in wrestling history, period. Two power-house companies battling it out for supremacy amidst a sea of crazy rabid fans. Week after week slugging it out at each other for ratings, until one day the WWE reigned in it’s supremacy and won the war. WCW went into free-fall once WWF regained the ratings and had become a shadow of it’s former self. The glory days had gone. A few years later WWE would shock the world by appearing on a televised WCW broadcast.
Shane McMahon or Vince depending on what you remember bought out there competition, the rest is history.

#2 Vince Proposes Incest Angle With His Daughter Stephanie. WTF?

Yes, you read that correctly. A 2006 McMahon DVD revealed that when Stephanie was pregnant with HHH’s baby, Vince proposed that there could be an angle revolving around the child’s fathers identity, with none other than Vince McMahon himself was revealed to be the father of his daughters child. Shocking stuff indeed.

Obviously Stephanie instantly said no and in an interview she said,

“I don’t know who would find entertainment in a storyline like that”, only for Vince to then suggest a “yeah it’d be her brother Shane instead.” Stephanie again said no chance.

I couldn’t imagine the uproar if Vince had followed through with this strange storyline. What the hell was he thinking?

#1The Undertaker Throws Mankind 16ft Off The Top Of A Cell.

An iconic moment in wrestling history. This truly deserves the number one spot for a WTF did i just see moment. The date was set, it was June 28, 1998. Mankind vs. The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match.

It happened fairly early into the match, both men climbed to the top of this cage. Both men instantly walked to the edge of the cell and after a minor scuffle The Undertaker then proceeded to throw Mankind 16ft off the top of the cell onto The Spanish announcing table and the concrete floor of Pittsburgh Civic Arena. As seen in the video below.

After witnessing the destruction on the floor, former great WWE commentator Jim Ross bursted out those famous words “GOOD GOD, ALMIGHTY! GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY! HE KILLED HIM! AS GOD AS MY WITNESS, HE’S BROKEN IN HALF!!!!”

Later it was revealed to be Terry Funks idea to start the match that way. Funk told Mankind “Maybe you should let him throw you off the top of the cage to start the match.” The match itself is most memorable pro wrestling match in WWE history.

Until next time. Thanks for reading…(please leave your top WTF moment(s) in the comments section below)
