What To Expect For The 2015 Royal Rumble

With the final WWE pay-per-view (WWE TLC) of 2014 in the books, the WWE kicks off the year 2015 with the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, which will be taking place on Sunday, January 25th, 2015 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

And so without further delay, let’s take a look at the “Road To WrestleMania 31:”

The 30-Man Royal Rumble Match will not close out the pay-per-view.

This one is a no-brainer, due to the fact that Brock Lesnar will be on the card. During its 28-year history, there have been six instances (1988, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2006, and 2013) and the first time since 2013 that the match bearing the name of its pay-per-view has taken a backseat to a much more meaningful match.

John Cena versus Brock Lesnar is a match that will no doubt be a WrestleMania-caliber match where you can bet that it will be the main event and nobody will think that the match would be out of place.

Anyways, look for a huge ending to this match much like Sting’s return during the Team Cena versus Team Authority match at last month’s Survivor Series.

Who will win the Rumble?

With Cena-Lesnar expected to get more exposure than the Rumble match itself, who will be some of the favorites to win it all? There are ultimate favorites such as Rusev, Kane, Big Show, and Daniel Bryan as well as dark horses like Dolph Ziggler and Ryback, but the odds-on favorite would have to be Roman Reigns due in large part to his performance at the 2014 Rumble match.

Other storylines to watch.

Even though he did not appear at TLC, look for Randy Orton to get his revenge against Seth Rollins in the coming days. Also, with The Miz and Damien Sandow losing to the Usos via a disqualification, look for this feud to continue heading into the Royal Rumble as will Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt. Meanwhile, look for the WWE Divas to watch on the sidelines as the rumored Nikki Bella vs. Brie Bella match for the Divas Championship will likely take place at WrestleMania 31.
