WWE Monday Night Raw (4/20) Results: Ziggler vs. Rollins, Kane vs. Cena & More

– Welcome to WWE Monday Night Raw, there is a recap video of last week’s episode of Raw. We get a live shot in the arena with a steel cage lowering down and Randy Orton makes his way down to the ring. Orton starts talking about Seth Rollins, he said that he chose to ban the RKO. He said that the RKO is not his greatest weapon, but in reality it is to inflict pain on people. He said he does not need the RKO, he will just use this steel cage to inflict pain on Rollins. Orton said that he so tired of hearing Rollins talk trash, he will break his jaw and then explains how he will destroy him with his choice that he chose for Extreme Rules. Seth Rollins makes his way to the stage with J&J security. He said that Orton has a bit of an anger problem, Orton said that he does not have an anger problem, but a Seth Rollins problem. Rollins said that he understands he is jerk and Orton wants to beat him up. However, he doesn’t care what Orton has to say, he said that he plays the game of human chess better than anyone else in WWE. Thus the reason he will be the greatest WWE Champion of all-time. He outperforms everyone in the ring and out thinks everyone out of it. He said that this WWE Championship proves it. He praises Randy Orton, but as good as Orton is, he is just that much better. Rollins said that Orton can give all the threats he wants, but he will not walk out of Extreme Rules as champion. Orton said that he will RKO every SOB that he sees and then at the end of RAW, he will do the same to Rollins. “That is a promise.”

– Triple H’s big announcement is still to come tonight about Tough Enough. 

-Commercial Break-

– Luke Harper cut a promo before the match about how he will make Dean Ambrose afraid of him after this match.

Singles Match: Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper

Once the match starts, Ambrose caught him with a crossbody. The bell rings and Harper landed a wicked chop to the chest. Ambrose threw Harper to the floor and then took him out with a dive through the middle rope. Harper crashes into the announce table, Ambrose set up the announce table, but Harper tossed him over the barricade and this brawl broke out in the crowd. They brawl from the crowd all the way up to the stage. Harper went for a powerbomb off the stage, but Ambrose blocked. Ambrose went for a DDT, but blocked by Harper and Harper tossed him off the stage. Harper ran to the back and Ambrose stood at the stage frustrated.

– We see Seth Rollins and J&J security walking backstage. The Prime Time Players scared the three as they’re on high alert for Randy Orton. Triple H appeared, Rollins is delighted to see him. Triple H said that Rollins looked a little nervous, Rollins said that he is worried about Kane. Triple H said that everything is fine and he will deal with Kane. 

-Commercial Break-

#1 Contenders for the Tag Team Titles: Lucha Dragons vs. New Day

“New Day sucks” chant broke out as Kalisto and Big E started things off. Big E caught Kalisto, but Kalisto spun out and jumped on Big E’s back. Kalisto with a kick to the jaw of Big E, he hit a hurricanrana followed by a drop kick. Cara tagged in and hit a crossbody for 2. Kofi Kingston tagged in, but taken down by Cara with an arm drag. Cara hit a springboard arm drag, he kicked the legs of Kofi. Cara with a chop to the chest of Kofi and then put him on the top turnbuckle, he hit a snap suplex for 2. Cara missed a drop kick and fell to the floor. Kofi hit a baseball slide on Cara and then put him back into the ring. Kofi and Big E beatdown Sin Cara as we went to break.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back from break with Sin Cara fighting back and getting the hot tag to Kalisto. He cleared the ring, he hit a series of flips, dives and kicks to Kofi Kingston. Big E broke up a pin fall, he sent Kalisto into the ropes, but Kalisto flipped back and kicked him in the face. Kalisto sent Kofi to the floor, he tagged in Cara and they hit a double moonsault taking out Big E and Kofi. Xavier Woods held on to Sin Cara’s feet while under the ring and the New Day won the match by countout.

Winner: New Day

After the match, Randy Orton ran out and hit an RKO to Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. Big E had none of Orton and walked to the back.

We see highlights of the John Cena vs. Bad News Barrett match from last week. John Cena will have another open challenge later tonight.

Highlights from Big Show’s attack on Roman Reigns is shown.

Singles Match: Fandango vs. Curtis Axel 

Axel with right hands to Fandango early on, he hit a drop kick and then taunted Fandango. He ripped off his shirt and Fandango rolled him up for 2. Fandango with a drop kick, a few clotheslines and a leg drop off the top rope for the win. 

Winner: Fandango 

After the match, Fandango started his Fandangoing dance with the crowd. 

-Commercial Break-

– Triple H makes his way down to the ring. He said a year ago the Authority was at a crossroads. He said that now a year later, Seth Rollins WWE Champion and everything is fine. He said finding the next Seth Rollins will start when Tough Enough starts on June 23rd on the USA Network. He hyped up how great it is to be a WWE Superstar. He said that if you think you are tough enough? Send it to the website for the show. Kane’s music hits and makes his way down to the ring. Triple H joked that Kane is a little season, of Tough Enough. Kane said he sent emails, text message and called him all week, but no response. Kane said that he can no longer deal with Seth Rollins and he is now giving Triple H his two week’s notice. Triple H tries to calm him down and said let’s work this out. Seth Rollins made his way down to the ring. Rollins said if Kane wants to quit, then let him. They argued, Kane said that Rollins has been given everything. Kane said that they could have made anyone champion and that means El Torito Champion! Triple H said that Kane did right for business last week, he said that Kane is loyal to them. Triple H announced that Kane will be the guardian of the cage. Anyone else who wants to get inside the cage will have to go through Kane. Triple H made Rollins shake hands with Kane and he did. Rollins walked to the back to end the segment.

– Kane told Triple H backstage that he will bring that demon inside of him tonight. Triple H booked Rollins vs. Dolph Ziggler for tonight.

Singles Match: Naomi vs. Brie Bella with Nikki Bella on commentary.

Naomi with a side headlock, but Brie fought out with right hands. Brie with a flying clothesline, Naomi cut her off with a forearm shot. Brie with a back elbow, but Naomi kicked Brie hard outside of the ring as we go to break.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Brie Bella making her comeback, she hit a crossbody off the top rope for a near fall. Naomi hit the rear view out of nowhere for the win.

Winner: Naomi 

Naomi taunted Nikki Bella from inside the ring and the two have a staredown to end the segment.
We see Superstars eating in catering, Heath Slater told Erick Rowan that he will beat John Cena tonight for the U.S Title. Rowan just walked away and Orton hit an RKO on Slater through a table out of nowhere. 

-Commercial Break-

– Roman Reigns made his way to the crowd, he called out Big Show. However, Bo Dallas made his way to the ring. He said that anger leads to hate and suffering. He said that Reigns have suffered long enough. He said that Reigns is a bust, he said that Reigns is the Tim Tebow of the WWE. He told Reigns to BOlieve. Reigns didn’t and hit a superman punch to Bo. He followed it up with a spear. Reigns said that he will see Big Show at Extreme Rules. BOlieve THAT!

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Sheamus vs. Zack Ryder

Sheamus hit a Brogue kick right away. Sheamus grabbed a mic, he said that Zack deserves more than a five second match. Sheamus that “Ryder is just a normal person, just like all of you people,” Sheamus said. Sheamus with a series of knees to Ryder. Sheamus tossed Ryder to the floor. Sheamus hit another Brogue kick to Ryder on the floor. Dolph Ziggler ran down and attacked Sheamus.

Winner: Sheamus by DQ.

Sheamus walked to the back with Ziggler standing tall in the ring.

-Commercial Break-

John Cena made his way down to the ring and cut a promo about how he will not be broken against Rusev at Extreme Rules. He said he will ruin Rusev’s plan on destroying him and regain his U.S Title once again. He said that when he is knocked down, he gets back up. He said that he will beat Rusev at Extreme Rules and prove that WrestleMania was no fluke, but a statement. Cena issued his open challenge and …. answered. 

U.S Title Match: John Cena vs. Kane

Kane went right after Cena, he landed a series of right hands. Kane sent Cena to the floor and then sent Cena into the barricade. Back in the ring, Kane hit a sidewalk slam to Cena for 2. Kane sent Cena hard into the corner and just beatdown the champion. Cena fought back with a side slam and then went for the five knuckle shuffle, but Kane popped up and hit a chokeslam to him for the win. Cena fought back and hit an AA to Kane for the win. 

Winner and Still Champ: Cena.

-Commercial Break-

– John Cena was about to cut a promo backstage, but Rusev appeared and hit Cena with a steel chain. He locked in the accolade with the chain on Cena’s face.

Winner gets the exclusive rights to the Miz brand: Damien Sandow vs. The Miz

Sandow with a quick roll up for 2. Sandow chased Miz around the ring, but back in the ring, Miz rolled him up for 2. Miz puts the boots to Sandow in the corner. Miz went for a clothesline, but Sandow reversed and hit a neck breaker. Sandow with a clothesline in the corner and then a neck breaker. Sandow with a DDT for 2. Sandow with the Skull Crushing Finale, but blocked and Miz hit a big boot. Miz went for the Skull Crushing Finale, but blocked. Miz threw Sandow into the ropes and Summer Rae slapped Sandow. Miz with the Skull Crushing Finale for the win.

Winner: Miz

– After the match, Miz grabbed a mic and said the “he’s the Miz, and he’s….” Randy Orton appeared and hit an RKO to Miz.

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Ryback vs. Adam Rose 

Ryback hit a shell shock on Rose for the win.
Winner: Ryback. 

After the match, two guys dressed up as a hot dog appeared in the ring. Ryback hit a shell shock on them. 

Renee Young read a tweet from Seth Rollins to Kane that made fun of him. Kane went and started yelling at Rollins in a backstage office. Rollins said that he was sorry and he knows how much Kane has helped him. He said that he will dedicate his match with Dolph Ziggler to Kane. Rollins walked out and we saw Orton standing behind him watching as we go to break. 

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Dolph Ziggler vs. Seth Rollins

Ziggler with a series of right hands to Rollins, he hit a neck breaker for 2. Ziggler clotheslines Rollins over the top rope and to the floor. Back in the ring, Ziggler hit a drop kick for 2. Ziggler was caught by Rollins and sent face first into the turnbuckle sending him to the floor.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back from break with Rollins in control of Ziggler. He beats down Ziggler, but Ziggler fought back after a few minutes of this. Ziggler ducked a kick and hit a spike DDT for a near fall. Ziggler went for the famaser, but Rollins moved and nailed him with a kick to the head for a near fall. Rollins went for a powerbomb, but Ziggler blocked and hit a superkick for 2. Ziggler went for the Zig Zag, but Sheamus ran down and distracted Ziggler. Rollins attacked him from behind, he hit a powerbomb in the corner and then a reverse DDT for the win.

Winner: Rollins

Seth Rollins grabbed a microphone, he said that he will prove this Sunday that he is the man. He said at Extreme Rules… Triple H made his way down to the ring in a hurry. He said that Rollins will defeat Randy Orton this Sunday. Rollins grabbed the mic out of Triple H’s hand. He said that he will prove that this is his WWE this Sunday. He said that he will do it all by himself. Kane’s music hit and made his way down to the ring. J&J security as well as Triple H went to stop Kane while the cage came down to the ring. Randy Orton popped in the ring as the cage lowered. Rollins in the cage all by himself. Orton attacked Rollins and hit an RKO while Rollins was falling off the ropes and in mid-air.

Orton stood tall in the ring to close the show.
