With WWE TLC 2019 concluded, it’s time to look back on what happened and assess the damage, praise the positives and talk about what went down.

Per usual, at the end of this post, you’ll see my regular Smack Talk Pay-Per-Viewpoint post-show podcast, which reviews the event in more detail, but for those who want a more condensed version of my thoughts, I present to you my “quicker than a hiccup” reaction to the different parts of the evening:

Andrade vs. Humberto Carrillo:

Why was this match booked? We just saw it on Raw and nothing at all happened differently than what happened then. It was a copy and paste of the same situation. Carrillo beat Andrade, who got mad at Zelina.

“It wasn’t done well enough on Raw.” Then why did you do the same thing again? “People forgot about it.” That’s what you do all those dumb recaps all the time for. Why break up Andrade and Zelina anyway? Ugh, this was stupid.

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Ladder Match: The New Day (c) vs. The Revival:

Great match. No complaints here.

Aleister Black vs. Buddy Murphy:

Black’s ring gear was gross looking. The match was slow and not anywhere near what I know these two are capable of doing. Very, very disappointing. They’re better than this.

Raw Tag Team Championship Match: The Viking Raiders (c) vs. The O.C.:

What the hell was this garbage?! You do a mystery opponents thing to go with the guys who said on Raw that they were going for the titles? A match we’ve seen a bunch of times this year? And the whole thing is a glorified commercial for KFC that ends in a double-count out?!

Absolutely terrible. Whoever made these decisions should be fired.

TLC Match: Roman Reigns vs. King Corbin:

This was boring. Why was it a TLC match when they didn’t even use a ladder or table, really? Again, as I’ve said a million times, that means this was just a No Disqualification match and only because they wanted multiple people to attack Reigns.

How come Reigns has no friends that could help? Why are we still dragging this feud on? Is it just to have the REAL finish happen on SmackDown? Don’t book episodes of TV to set up pay-per-views that are going to be nothing but “oh man, we’re ending the show with a brawl so you can tune in to SmackDown in a week.” Stop it.

Bray Wyatt vs. The Miz:

Stupid. I’m way past watching Wyatt get beaten up, no-sell it, and then win. Why is he being booked as heel John Cena?

There was no reason this was a non-title match as Wyatt won. That lack of logic astounds me. If the plan was for Wyatt to win anyway, why not make this for the title so people are at least intrigued that maybe the belt will change hands? You lose nothing, you only gain. But that makes sense, so let’s not do that.

And what the hell is up with Michael Cole asking about the mallet like he hasn’t seen this a few other times?!

Tables Match: Rusev vs. Bobby Lashley:

Just end this.

Women’s Tag Team Championship TLC Match: The Kabuki Warriors (c) vs. Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair:

Very good match, thankfully. The Kabuki Warriors were crazy here and that was a lot of fun to watch. I enjoyed the use of the rope, too. That was neat and different. Also, Flair’s fall through the tables was the best spot of the night by far.
