MJF felt upstaged by the debut of Cody Rhodes’ infamous neck tattoo at AEW Revolution 2020, according to fellow AEW wrestler Britt Baker.
While MJF won his match with Rhodes, Cody stole headlines with his tattoo which features his American Nightmare logo.
On a recent edition of the “Mostly Sports” podcast, Baker spoke about the tattoo and MJF’s feelings at the time that the ink stole his thunder. She said,
“There was a lot of controversy around that internally at the time because…MJF, at the time, I don’t know if I can say this, I’m just going to say it because f**k MJF. He felt that Cody was trying to steal his thunder at the time because they were in a feud at the pay-per-view. Cody vs. MJF, MJF big coming out moment, and it was like his Harrah, and Cody shows up, bam, with a neck tattoo.
“I’m sure he doesn’t care now because MJF is successful on his own, but at the time…”
Baker was on the dark match at AEW Revolution 2020 and teamed with Penelope Ford to defeat Riho and Yuka Sakazaki.
