On a recent edition of “The Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam shared his experience teaming with HOOK in AEW.

HOOK is the son of RVD’s former ECW/WWE colleague and current AEW broadcaster, Taz.

Rob Van Dam will team with HOOK and Hangman Page in a six-man tag team bout against Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and Brian Cage later tonight on AEW Dynamite.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On HOOK: “He’s a very likable guy and, [that’s] not just first-hand from me thinking he’s got a good vibe [and] I like him, but I even noticed first that the crowd took to him so much, and so I was trying to figure that out. What is that about him? I think it’s cool that he’s Taz’s son. To use a pun – that’s a little HOOK on his character, and makes him stand out a little bit. Honestly, when I saw him and Samoa Joe do their little promo face-off, I thought it was funny how he held the microphone up, and it made me laugh. I thought it made him look like an unruly punk that just had some things he wanted to say but wasn’t necessarily taught how, because that’s the way it came across, which should be good for, I think, the message they were doing. I like him.”

On if he sees himself teaming with HOOK more in AEW: “I don’t know, I’m not even exactly sure what you’re asking, but I mean as far as, was there supposed to be anything more…I’m not one to open up a plan-book… I’m more of a live-by-the-moment kind of a person. So, in that regard, I usually don’t know until it happens. It’s just talk anyway, so I don’t put that much into, ‘We’re going to do this and that, and that, and then maybe you are, maybe you’re not.’ You know, that’s just life in general. HOOK came down and made the save when Brian Cage came in… I think that certainly leaves room for another match down the road. Tag match? Or I guess there’s three or four of them… so maybe build it for them if that’s something people would care about.”

On a recent edition of his “1 Of A Kind” podcast, Rob Van Dam also addressed the possibility of chasing the AEW World Title, which would make him the only man to become the world champion of AEW, WWE, TNA, and ECW.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On potentially winning the AEW World Title: “If I go after the AEW Championship, say I collect that f***ing gold, add that, and become the only wrestler to have held the WWE, TNA, ECW, and AEW Championship[s]. I mean, I do s**t like that, I’m always finding new ways to stand out and be one of a kind.”

On the rare feat that would be: “Imagine if that happened, how inspired people would be in general to think they grew up watching me decades ago and then here at 53 they’re seeing me perceptively, maybe, having the best matches or the best year of my career. Even if they could just look at it that way from a small point of view, that’s just amazing.”
