Steve “Mongo” McMichael was hospitalized earlier this week due to pneumonia. The former WCW wrestler is suffering from a urinary tract infection.

McMichael’s family has provided a new update, noting that he has MRSA and is undergoing a blood transfusion.

On a recent edition of the “Under the Ring” podcast, wrestling legend Kevin Von Erich lavished praise on AEW and its CEO Tony Khan.

Kevin noted that AEW was Marshall and Ross’ favorite place to perform so far in their careers. He said,

I’ve always loved AEW. That’s a great company, I really liked it. Tony Khan’s a genius, he really is. He’s somebody that loves what he does and you can’t help but admire that. I met him, my sons met him, he’s a first-class guy.”

Will Ospreay will challenge Michael Oku for the British Heavyweight Championship at tomorrow’s RevPro High Stakes event.

The match, which is the third of a trilogy, marks Ospreay’s final bout before starting full-time with AEW.

Oku tweeted, Will Ospreay has never believed in me. That starts from day one, 6½ years ago, when he saw me have my first match. Immediately put a ceiling on my potential, calling me a joke…Didn’t think I was good enough, serious enough for his promotion Frontline…Until I proved him wrong by headlining its anniversary show but I injured my wrist again in that match and the nameless faceless promoter came out from the back to try and call it off because he didn’t believe I could finish the match but I did…Each year brought a new test to prove I was good enough to stand beside him or stand against him…Just when I felt I’d built up enough belief, High Stakes 2022 ends the way it does and I have to start all over again…It took two years to rebuild. Two years to be certain of myself that on my night…I can and will beat the best wrestler in the world. And then
@WillOspreay, maybe you’ll finally believe in me…

Ospreay replied, I am your ceiling.

In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Aron Stevens spoke about his Damien Mizdow run in WWE, which he said wouldn’t have worked without The Miz. Mizdow was the stunt double for the Miz, often mimicking his actions. The two eventually became tag team champions.

Stevens said, “I think there was no Mizdow without Miz. If I didn’t have a subject to base my satire on, I wouldn’t have had that. So that’s a testament to the timing Miz and I had. Miz and I are, you know, I say we’re friends. Like, we haven’t really talked or anything. But if we saw each other, it’d be cool. Like, there’d be what’s up, man. We came up in OVW and stuff, and out there though, we had timing about it because that’s all that was. It was Miz doing his thing and then allowing me to do my thing. Then going into it, he was very, very cool about it. Our best moments were not discussed. Truly, they weren’t, we didn’t talk about them. They happened organically.”
