As you know by now, former AEW World Champion MJF hasn’t been featured on AEW television since dropping the title to Samoa Joe at the 2023 Worlds End pay-per-view event. There has also been some speculation about his contract being up early this year.

According to a report from Pwinsider, while he is not currently featured on the AEW roster page, it is believed that he has re-signed with the company and his contractual status is a work.

MJF was in Boston, MA after the AEW Dynamite: Big Business TV tapings and met with AEW officials. With that being said, he was not backstage at the show. MJF continues to rehab a torn labrum and several other lingering issues.

There is still no word on whether he had surgery on the torn labrum injury.

In other news, Hiroshi Tanahashi is interested in having actor Zac Efron come to NJPW to make an appearance.

Speaking with Tokyo Sports at the Japan premiere of The Iron Claw, the NJPW President expressed his desire to see Efron make an appearance for NJPW. He said,

“Zac Efron is just so cool. I had an image of actors playing professional wrestlers as thin and macho, but all the actors in this movie have good muscle mass. There were no unnatural moves at all.”

He added, “Chavo [Guerrero, who plays The Sheik] does a good job, and I wanted to bring Zac Efron to New Japan Pro-Wrestling.”

The Iron Claw is currently available on Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital.
