WWE United States Champion AJ Styles was interviewed by WWE prior to SummerSlam. Styles was asked about the much talked about dream match between himself and two-time WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels.
Styles revealed he once asked Michaels about the match, and got a flat out answer of, “no.” Here’s what he had to say:
“I would have loved the opportunity to have gotten in the ring with him. I asked Shawn about a match and he said ‘No.’ I can’t do anything about that. I would love to opportunity to have a match. But I get where he’s coming from. When I retire, I want to remain retired too.”
