According to a source, The Authority returning to WWE TV has been planned for some time now. The move to bring them back was not a reaction to the recent low ratings for RAW. WWE’s plans have been to set up a Triple H vs. Sting match at WrestleMania 31, so bringing back the Authority allows them to start setting up that match.
Sting’s next appearance for WWE has not been confirmed, but word is that he is not expected to be a surprise entrant in the 2015 Royal Rumble match. Of course, it’s possible that he’ll appear in a different role at the Rumble pay-per-view and plans are constantly changing, especially during this time of year as we head towards WrestleMania.
