We now know that The Young Bucks, Cody Rhodes, and Adam “Hangman” Page all recently turned down WWE offers to join All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Triple H was working hard to try and get The Elite to come to WWE, with some pretty cool perks in the offered contracts. Meltzer reports that Page’s deal would’ve been working on NXT as one of the brand’s top stars, while also making main roster money. A unique three-year deal was also offered to The Young Bucks, who would’ve been making the same amount of money as AJ Styles.
The deal included WWE airing their “Being The Elite” series on the WWE Network. There was also a six-month window that would’ve allowed The Bucks out of their contracts if they weren’t happy. The report included that The Elite had about 12 hours of discussions with Triple H, and they praised him for how the meetings were handled. Triple H reportedly saw humor in the Bucks superkicking Kazarian, who was dressed as Triple H, on Being The Elite as a way of turning down WWE’s offer.
It was also noted that Kenny Omega’s NJPW contract will be expiring soon. He’s expected to sign with AEW after February 1st when he hits free agency, and is believed to have already turned down WWE’s offer.
