As announced on Sunday night via ROHWrestling.com, Nigel McGuinness has “resigned” as Ring of Honor’s matchmaker. We reported here on eWN that this is all a storyline angle in case he’s needed for a commentary role if Steve Corino winds up leaving. WWE has offered him a position to become a coach at their Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. For what it’s worth, Nigel McGuinness also has a standing offer from WWE to become a trainer at the Performance Center. There is no word on whether he is considering it as of this writing.
Speaking of Ring of Honor, the company is working on expanding their Women of Honor division with a championship belt planned as well as contracts being offered to several of the regulars. According to sources, Mandy Leone, Kelly Klein, Deonna Purrazzo and Taeler Hendrix are all likely to receive contract offers. Purrazzo regularly works for WWE NXT and appeared on this week’s WWE RAW broadcast during The New Day’s celebration.
