Just last week, Chris Jericho announced that AEW star Santana was injured and would be out of action for around eight months.

According to a report from Fightful, the injury occurred during the Blood & Guts match that took place on AEW Dynamite several weeks ago. The injury is said to be ACL-related.

Santana was in attendance at a wrestling event in Puerto Rico over the weekend to relinquish a title he was in possession of. At that show, he was seen using crutches. As of this writing, he has not undergone surgery for the injury.

While AEW and Santana have yet to confirm the injury, the Proud N’ Powerful member is expected to be out of action between eight and twelve months.

The plan is to continue using Ortiz on TV going forward. Multiple sources say there haven’t been any talks about halting his appearances.

As we’ve been reporting here on eWn, Santana and Ortiz are not on good terms these days. Konnan recently confirmed this on an episode of his “Keepin’ It 100” podcast.

And finally, it was noted that Ortiz was already taking on solo bookings prior to Santana’s injury.
