Director Taika Waititi has confirmed that there is a reference to Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in the recent Marvel release ‘Thor: Love and Thunder.’
The new film sees Thor (Chris Hemsworth) team with his ex Dr. Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) who has gained the same powers as the Norse God, as they face off against Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale.)
During the film, it is revealed that Korg (Waititi), a rock-based alien from the Kronan species has a boyfriend called Dwayne, also a Kronan.
Fans thought the concept of a rock being called Dwayne was deliberate by Waititi, who confirmed that he indeed was giving a nod to the Brahma Bull with a tweet.
