As seen last weekend, WWE developmental talent Lio Rush sent out a controversial tweet following the news of Emma’s WWE departure. Rush said, “I guess these are the things that happen when you’re not TRULY ready for [Asuka].” According to sources, the tweet generated so much heat towards him that there was “near-immediate talk” that he may be fired.
According to sources, Rush’s apology for the tweet may have saved him from losing his job. One source said Rush is “going to have to work to get heat off of him.” WWE producer Scott Armstrong and WWE NXT General Manager William Regal are two of the people who defended him, saying “rookies make mistakes” and he’ll likely learn from it.
