The Ratings Breakdown For AEW Dynamite (4/24/24)

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw its ratings and viewership decrease following the 2024 AEW Dynasty pay-per-view event this past weekend.

AEW Dynamite had 683,000 viewers, a 0.23 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, and a 0.15 rating in the 18-34 key demo.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has released a detailed analysis of the numbers, including a breakdown of each quarter hour.

AEW Dynamite aired live Coast to Coast, typically leading to an 8% drop. It normally airs later on the West Coast but aired at 5:00 PM PT instead. If the show aired in its normal timeslot, it would still have been slightly lower than last week’s episode.

AEW Dynamite peaked in both 18-49 and 18-34 with the final quarter.

AEW Dynamite was #6 for the night, behind two NBA games on TNT, two NHL games on ESPN, and Inside The NBA after the second game.

AEW Dynamite was #3 in its time slot behind TNT and ESPN. Its main competition was the Boston vs. Miami NBA game, which had 2,856,000 viewers and a 0.95 on TNT (as well as 269,000 and 0.10 on TruTV). The NHL game between Boston and Toronto had 1,238,000/0.38. The Big Bang Theory lead-in was also down, getting only 856,000 viewers and a 0.14.

Compared to last week, AEW Dynamite had a 10.4% drop in viewers, a 10.1% drop in 18-49, and a 4.4% drop in 18-34.

Compared to last year, AEW Dynamite had a 20.9% drop in viewers, a 17.9% drop in 18-49, and a 22.9% drop in 18-34.

The audience was 62.1% male in 18-49, down significantly from usual.
