As seen at Saturday night’s WWE Backlash 2023 pay-per-view event, Carlito made his return to WWE to assist Bad Bunny during his match with Damian Priest.
According to a report from Fightful Select, there were several people in the company who were “very happy” with Carlito’s return. Several WWE officials noted that the crowd reaction was “even better than expected” when his music hit. One source indicated that Carlito had “matured a lot” since the last time he was backstage.
While there have been several pitches made over the past few years to bring him back in a full-time role, this appearance was said to have been a one-off for now. It should be noted that this could easily change based on the reaction he received and his calm demeanor while being backstage.
