While Batista won’t be seen on RAW for the next few months, he’s going to be
pretty much everywhere else. Variety reports
that Marvel is going to be aggressive in its strategy of marketing Guardians of
the Galaxy including several licensing partnerships that will heavily feature
the entire cast, including Batista as Drax the Destroyer.

The site notes that the studio has an action figure deal with Hasbro, along
with kid’s costumes from Rubies and forty-eight other partnerships. Among those
promoting the film via licensing deals will be Wal-Mart and Target, while
companies like Lego, Mad Engine, KIDdesigns, New Era and Disguise are all
partnered with the studio.

The film opens on August 1st.

Speaking of Guardians of the Galaxy, here is the latest synopsis for the
film. The film opens on August 1st and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave
Batista, Lee Pace, Djimon Hounsou, Benicio del Toro, John C. Reilly, Glenn
Close, Karen Gillan, Gregg Henry, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker and Vin
Diesel.

Brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an
unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a
powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the
ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of
disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the
deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when
Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos,
he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with
the galaxy’s fate in the balance.
