Former WCW World Heavyweight Champion, and current indy wrestler, David Arquette was recently interviewed by TMZ Sports. Arquette talked about his goal in professional wrestling, wanting to earn respect in the business, his dream match, and more. Here are the highlights:
If WWE is his goal: “No, WWE is not the goal,” Arquette confirmed. “I mean, I love WWE and I would love to do anything with them, ever. No, my main goal is getting some respect. That really is what it’s about.”
How his quest for respect is going: “I’ve called out Cody Rhodes, cause me and his dad wore the same [WCW] belt,” Arquette said. “And if I can get him to respect me, then I think I can get other people to respect me.”
His dream match: “It would be Cody Rhodes,” Arquette responded. “I mean he is one of the best in the world. So, if I can go toe-to-toe with him I think that would be a good show.”
