AEW’s Dax Harwood has said that he believes WWE’s Executive Chairman Vince McMahon enjoys instilling fear into others.
In January, McMahon returned to WWE and has been appointed the promotion’s Executive Chairman, after retiring from the company in July 2022.
During the “FTR with Dax Harwood” podcast, the ex-Superstar reflected on the differences between taking orders from Vince McMahon and Triple H. He said,
“Vince leads through fear. I think he enjoys that. He enjoys being the alpha male, he enjoys people being afraid of him. I don’t think Hunter really wanted to rule with a sword, he wanted to rule with an iron fist and wanted people to respect him. Vince wanted to scare people into respecting him.
“[Triple H is] more receptive to your ideas. We can bounce ideas off of [him] and there were plenty of times when I did. His ideas always came with a great reason and it made sense.”
Despite McMahon’s reported tactics, Harwood said that he classes both Vince and Triple H as “approachable.”
FTR returned to AEW programming during the Revolution pay-per-view event but Harwood has said their contract situation with the company has not changed.
