Despite having been on the front lines as part of The Judgement Day, Finn Balor’s Demon persona almost made a shocking appearance at one of WWE’s biggest shows.
In December, it was reported that Balor was set to bring back his Demon character for a rematch against the Rated-R Superstar Edge at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event in San Antonio, Texas. Fightful Select has now confirmed those plans were indeed set internally; however, Edge’s filming schedule didn’t allow those plans to come to fruition. Several people reportedly felt the Demon character wouldn’t fit Balor’s current role in The Judgement Day. However, others felt the Demon’s return would’ve brought some extra buzz and interest to the feud.
Edge and Beth Phoenix defeated Rhea Ripley and Finn Balor in a mixed tag match this past weekend at the Elimination Chamber 2023 pay-per-view event. It’s unknown whether Edge’s feud with The Judgement Day will continue into WrestleMania 39, but it appears likely following the events on this week’s episode of WWE RAW.
