Mexico’s greatest champion successfully defends GHC National Championship

Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. The 9th GHC National Champion successfully defended his title for the second time on February 5 in Tokyo, defeating challenger Manabu Soya. Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. is part of a professional wrestling family that was raised by his father, Dr. Wagner, along with his brother Silver King.
He made his debut in Mexico in 1986 and came to New Japan Pro-Wrestling in 1988 and became very popular for his high technical skills, power and passivity, although he was a Junior heavyweight. In 1999, he reigned as the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and became a top-notch talented wrestler among those of the Junior class, such as Jushin Thunder Liger, The Pegasus Kid (Chris Benoit), Shinjiro Otani and Kendo Kashin.
After his transfer to All Japan Professional Wrestling, he now has Pro Wrestling Noah as his main battle ground. In this match, he captivated the audience with his ground wrestling in the early stages. There were scenes everywhere that made it seem that the champion was being replaced by a series of attacks by challenger Manabu Soya. Wagner hit a Tope Suicida (Jumping high flying rocket ) to get out of the field and turned the tide.
His finishing sequence to defend his title saw him hit a Moonsault after his favorite maneuver, the Wagner Driver. The cheerful Mexican shouted with joy on the microphone towards the crowds of the fans in the area, saying, “I’m happy to win with my favorite Japan, Viva Noah.” He screamed and bowed politely once again to the packed fans. There are many rivals vying for the GHC National Champion title, and you can’t take your eyes off the GHC National Champion.
