WWE NXT UK alumnus Flash Morgan Webster was reportedly dealing with an injury when he was released from WWE.
According to a report from Fightful, Webster was dealing with an injury that had him sidelined since last year. It is believed a surgeon cleared Webster just before his release, but his physiotherapist hadn’t and he was said to be “nowhere near” being able to return.
Webster announced on August 18th of this year that he had “come to terms” with WWE on his release. Morgan’s deal expired earlier this year and he was supposedly working on a short-term extension that lasted through the summer. Him re-signing with the company earlier this year was to secure his job with WWE while he recovered.
Webster last competed at the October 2021 WWE NXT UK tapings. WWE typically avoids releasing talent who are injured. Recently, several NXT UK stars were released after the brand went on hiatus. The door reportedly remains open for many of them to potentially return when NXT Europe launches next year.
