Edge and Gangrel have a friendship that spans almost 25 years. In the early days of his WWE career, Edge was a member of The Brood, a faction led by Gangrel, which helped him establish himself as the ‘Rated R Superstar.’ Despite eventually parting ways, Edge has paid tribute to his Brood roots in the past, as evidenced by his Brood-inspired entrance at the 2021 SummerSlam pay-per-view event.

As Edge currently finds himself outnumbered in his feud with The Judgment Day, he could use some assistance, and Gangrel may be the ally he needs. In an interview with “K & S WrestleFest,” Gangrel expressed his willingness to help Edge, noting that while Edge’s wife Beth Phoenix is supporting him, he would also be available to assist. He said,

“He’s got his wife; she’s all jacked up. She’s looking great. She’s got his back. If he wants more though, I’d be down for that. I guess the stars have to align.”

Gangrel has not competed in a WWE ring since 2007.

With or without Gangrel, Edge will be competing in a mixed tag team match alongside Beth Phoenix against Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley of The Judgment Day at the upcoming Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event. This match follows the Hall of Famer couple’s return to the ring at the Royal Rumble, after being sidelined for months due to a brutal attack on Phoenix during an I Quit Match at Extreme Rules.
