In June 2022, GUNTHER became the WWE Intercontinental Champion after defeating Ricochet. He successfully defended the title at WrestleMania 39 in a triple threat match against Drew McIntyre and Sheamus.
Since then, GUNTHER has defended the Intercontinental Championship against various challengers, including Xavier Woods, Mustafa Ali, Bronson Reed, Tommaso Ciampa, Chad Gable, and others.
He has already surpassed the Honky Tonk Man’s record of 454 days, making him the longest-reigning champion in history.
On Monday, GUNTHER reached a new milestone of 500 days as the WWE Intercontinental Champion.
