Jeff Jarrett: R-Truth Could Have Reached The Next Level If He Ditched Comedy

WWE veteran R-Truth could have reached a whole new level in his career had he ditched his comedy persona, at least according to Jeff Jarrett.

After a brief 2011 heel run, Truth became a more comedic character in WWE, often speaking to his imaginary friend ‘Little Jimmy.’

Speaking on his My World podcast, Jarrett discussed how things could have gone had Truth never become a comedic wrestler. He said,

“I often thought this, and I’m not just saying about the last couple of years [in WWE]. You look back and he’s been a comedy performer for years and years.

“Had the chairman Vince McMahon viewed Ron [Killings] just a little bit differently as someone that we’re going to back off comedy [of], not for the week or the month, but for this run. We’re going to completely get off the comedy and we’re going to be serious, and you can throw in a tinge of one-liners here and there, but really focus on going down a different avenue for Ron. I believe it would have worked. I believe it would have gone to another level, but that never happened.”

R-Truth is currently out of action due to a torn quad

he suffered when competing on the November 1st edition of WWE NXT.
