Jeff Hardy leaving AEW over his recent DUI arrest would be in everybody’s best interest, according to Jim Cornette.

In June, Hardy was arrested and charged with his third DUI in a decade, and has been suspended from AEW programming.

The three-time former WWE World Champion has pleaded not guilty to the charge and several other charges against him.

Speaking on his ‘Drive Thru’ podcast, Cornette spoke about Hardy’s future with Tony Khan’s company and questioned if firing Hardy would be best for Khan and Jeff.

“I assume whatever contract he signed at the start is still in effect, but with all this, that’s gone on, Tony could just say you know maybe this isn’t working out? Who knows.

“It may be worth it business-wise, I mean my God, who else have they got that can even get the interest that Jeff can get but is it best for Jeff?”

Hardy has entered rehabilitation for his alcohol abuse, which Tony Khan has said will be his only chance while working in AEW.
