The finals of the G1 climax we’re certainly explosive but not just because of what occurred in the main event.
During the event, KENTA, formerly known as Hideo Itami in WWE, was revealed as the newest member of Bullet Club.
Things heated up from there as Katsuyori Shibata, KENTA’s longtime friend, became physical with the man who had just betrayed him even delivering a hesitated dropkick in the corner before getting laid out by the rest of Bullet Club. This would Mark the first time that Shibata would see action since being forced to retire due to a very serious brain injury.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Shibata getting physical was kept very close to the vest, with many of the wrestlers being unaware that this moment would even occur. It remains to be seen if this moment will lead to a full comeback of some kind, but Shibata has had brain surgery, and the risks may be too great for a full-time comeback:
