WWE registered with the Indiana Gaming Commission this week to legalize betting on matches and also faced a roadblock in Colorado due to the state’s statutory right that prohibits bets on events with fixed or predicted outcomes.
WCW & WWE alumni Lance Storm has criticized WWE’s agenda of legalizing betting in professional wrestling. Storm noted that betting would totally destroy the art of story-telling and put an end to the overall creative process. He tweeted,
“Insane. Finishes are a crucial aspect of story telling. It would destroy the creative process. You’d have to go back to a single Booker who everyone trusts and will keep his mouth shut. Writers can’t write or collaborate if they can’t discuss finishes.”
