Lyra Valkyria defeated Becky Lynch to win the WWE NXT Women’s Championship last night at NXT Halloween Havoc (Night One).

Speaking to NXT Digital following the show, Valkyria addressed her landmark title victory. She said, It doesn’t feel real. I really feel like I can’t put it into words. Because when I was out there, it felt like time was standing still and everything connected. It just felt like everything I’ve worked for, for nine years now, all came together. And I felt on top of the world because it felt like no decision I’ve ever made has been bad because it all led to this. I think that I would live my entire life again just to feel what I felt holding this title up out there. And I think in what we do, we would work our whole careers in the hopes of feeling what I feel right now, even once. And I think I’ll be living in that moment for another nine years. I can’t explain how good it feels right now to be your NXT Women’s Champion.

In a recent interview with The Messenger, WWE Hall of Famer Molly Holly discussed WWE being more supportive of wrestlers’ mental health than it had been in the past.

Holly currently works as a backstage producer for WWE. She said,

The performers are free to speak up if they need some extra time off, if they’re feeling overwhelmed. There’s a lot of support for them. Being backstage now, I can see how the culture has changed, how WWE has changed, and I feel that all of the performers now are very well supported.”

During a virtual signing for K&S Wrestlefest, reigning ROH Women’s World Champion Athena revealed which AEW opponents she would like to face, including TBS Champion Kris Statlander and AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida.

Athena said, Right now, I’m the forever Ring of Honor Champion. It’s my show, my title, my family with Lexi and Billie [Billie Starkz]. My next goal is to get some more gold around my waist, maybe make an appearance on AEW, seeing if I can get under the skin of some of the champions over there and see if they’ll issue that challenge. They’re all cowards. I love Kris Statlander. I would love even more to kick her in the face. That would be beautiful. Hikaru Shida. I wrestled Shida a long time ago in SHIMMER, and I thoroughly enjoyed that match. I would love the opportunity to kick her in the face again. That would be beautiful.”
