Matt Cardona tried his best to make the Hype Bros work but he believes his tag team with Mojo Rawley flat-out sucked.
The Hype Bros came together in 2015 when Cardona (Zack Ryder at the time) was sent to NXT, and the pair were brought to SmackDown as part of the 2016 brand extension.
Speaking on a recent edition of the “Off Her Chops” podcast, Cardona recalled working with Rawley. He said,
“It sucked… At first, it was an opportunity and I took it as an opportunity, went to NXT, alright, let’s f***ing go. Me and Mojo, we both f***ing tried… It’s nothing against him, I just f***ing hated it.”
The team would split in November 2017 after Rawley attacked Ryder/Cardona on SmackDown following a loss to the Bludgeon Brothers.
