Matt Cardona defeated Rhino to become the ECW TV Champion at GCW’s “Most Notorious” event back in January 2022.
Since WWE owns the rights to ECW, the GCW match wasn’t an official title bout. However, that won’t stop Cardona from bragging as he discussed his accomplishment in an interview with Fightful. He said,
“Oh, my God. Dream come true. Legends like Rob Van Dam and to beat a legend like Rhino in his hometown of Detroit, and I’m the last ever ECW TV Champion. So that’s historic. I’m in the history books. I’m an ECW original guy, damnit.”
