Matt Riddle – ‘Brock Lesnar Ruined My Chances Of Winning The 2022 Royal Rumble’

Brock Lesnar entered the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble Match as the surprise #30 entrant and dominated everyone to win the bout and earn a WWE World Championship match at WrestleMania 38.

The victory made Lesnar the fourth Superstar to win from the #30 spot and the ninth two-time Royal Rumble winner, his first win being in 2003.

During a recent virtual signing with “Signed By Superstars,” former WWE Superstar Matt Riddle claimed that he was originally billed to win the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble Match.

However, Lesnar decided to flip the script and demanded that he win the match, and the finish was reportedly changed.

Riddle said, “So I believe — you know it’s sports entertainment — but I was told that I was going to win the Rumble and everything else, and then Bobby Lashley beat Brock Lesnar because somebody came in and hit him with the belt or what have you. Then Brock came in, didn’t want to do business with everybody, said he was winning, and then he won. Like, none of the producers, nobody stood up to him and they let him do it. I didn’t either.”

However, there are conflicting reports regarding the winner of the 2022 Royal Rumble Match.

Pwinsider reported at the time that Riddle was the frontrunner to win the match until a late change, while Orton was also pitched as the winner.

Lesnar was reportedly written in as the winner for at least two weeks before the show took place at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
