On a recent edition of his “Franchise University” podcast, Shane Douglas discussed the career of the late Terry Funk and the time they wrestled a 45-minute match in ECW.

On Terry Funk: “He was incredible, honestly. I’d never done a [time limit draw] that long before and Terry walked into the building that day and he was hobbled, he looked like he could barely stand up. I was fighting for my life.”
On how he couldn’t match up with what Funk did at his age: “I’m about 50% of what I used to be able to do.”
On a recent edition of his “Foley Is Pod” podcast, Mick Foley discussed the verbal feud between Kevin Nash and LA Knight and compared the current WWE product to that of the Attitude Era.

On Kevin Nash and LA Knight’s verbal feud: “I think it’s a little bit tongue-in-cheek. Kevin sees a good thing when he’s got it and the fact that LA Knight’s responding to him, whether directly or indirectly, it’s kind of fun.”
On Nash’s view of Knight being a knockoff of Stone Cold and The Rock: “[Nash’s] knock on LA Knight is that he’s combining The Rock and Steve [Austin], right? I gotta tell ya, if you gotta combine two people that’s not a bad way to go. I’m a guy who gleaned so much of what he did from Terry Funk,” Foley added, “so I’m not one to throw stones.”
On how Nash’s comments only build interest in Knight: “I think it’s pretty funny and I think it only builds interest in LA Knight. If it was hurting his career, I would worry about it but I think he’s gonna be just fine.”
On the current WWE product: “I have started watching again, I have to tell you, I really find Raw enjoyable. I think Triple H deserves a lot of [credit] — and no that’s not a sign that I want to go back there under a contract, just because I’m complimenting Triple H. I think they’ve got some great long-term storylines going on. I think they’re adding great talent and it reminds me of like, late 1999, specifically early 2000.”
On the similarities: “When we had, I think a 10-man tag team match in Dallas and it was just like, from beginning to end, it was just a phenomenal reaction. It was like everybody in that ring was over. So, WWE and its roster are kind of reminding me of those days, because there are a lot of characters that are working well.”
