On a recent edition of his “Monday Mailbag” podcast, former WWE referee Mike Chioda revealed how proud he was to call The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 18 in 2002.
Chioda said, “It was awesome to get put in that position, that means you’re doing your job. I took pride in what I did because you get put in that situation, that segment, that main event, that means the boys trust you, the agents trust you, the higher-ups trust you, Vince [McMahon] and Kevin Dunn or whoever. They all trusted you to be in that spot.”
The Rock defeated The Hulkster at the event which was held at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.
In a recent interview with Haus of Wrestling, reigning WWE NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov addressed his upcoming title defense against Carmelo Hayes at NXT Halloween Havoc (Night Two) on October 31.
Dragunov said, “It is something that doesn’t surprise me too much because you just need to look at our first two performances together, our two big fights we had together, the people were astounded. The entire audience are witnesses to moments they probably won’t forget for the rest of their life, so he’s obviously an amazing talent, but again I replied [about] this on social media, it’s going to be a nightmare he won’t forget for the rest of his life. So, we can fight again, but this championship is never gonna leave my hands.”
