Speculation regarding MJF’s absence is still running rampant online. He last appeared on the June 1st edition of AEW Dynamite, when he cut his infamous “pipe bomb” promo on the company.
Although MJF is nowhere to be found, one person who still gives the AEW star some props is Smart Mark Sterling. He appeared on this week’s “AEW Unrestricted” to discuss how MJF helped him get signed.
“Max and I went to the same wrestling school. So when the opportunity came up in an angle that there is a lawyer involved, obviously he said, ‘I got the guy.’ So that’s when I came down … It was super fun, and I thought sort of, ‘That was it,’ and I rode off into the sunset.”
The angle involved MJF attempting to ban Jon Moxley’s Paradigm Shift in a match between the two. Sterling went on to serve as a lawyer for current TBS Champion Jade Cargill and is now involved with Josh Woods and Tony Nese.
