As we previously reported here on eWn, Ethan Page wasn’t happy about the cinematic match between himself and his alter-ego, The Karate Man, that took place at Impact Wrestling’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view event. The match was taped last month.
According to a report from Fightful, Page never wanted the Karate Man character to become a part of Impact Wrestling. While he knew he was leaving the company, he didn’t want there to be an aggressive split or breakup between him and his tag-team partner Josh Alexander. The hope was that the duo could reunite at some point down the line. Page claims he was given a choice between The Karate Man or The North.
Page recently revealed that he did not get to see a final cut or edit of The Karate Man match. Impact Wrestling VP Don Callis was said to have been a big fan and proponent of using The Karate Man character.
