WWE NXT 2.0 Superstar Amari Miller has apologized for a tweet regarding the skin color of Sasha Banks.
On Twitter, Miller praised Ember Moon/Athena as the only African-American NXT Women’s Champion, and said she hopes to be the second.
When questioned about Banks, a former NXT Women’s Champion, Miller explained that The Boss didn’t count as she is half-African American on her mother’s side and half-German on her father’s side.
The backlash from fans led to Miller deactivating her account but reactivated the profile to share the below statement.
“I didn’t mean bad intentions with what I had said but I do want to apologize. I meant something super well and it came across horribly. I want to sincerely apologize to everyone. I also have to understand that posting on a social media platform can sound one way to me, as I’m typing and can come across totally different but that’s lessons learned for sure. People make mistakes and people grow and that is exactly what this experience was for me.”

Banks has not commented publicly on Miller’s previous tweets or her apology.
