Original Plans Changed For Shayna Baszler For 2020, Royal Rumble

The orignial plans for WWE Superstar Shayna Baszler were said to be much different than what had actually turned out. According to a report by Fightful, Shayna was originally slated to win the Royal Rumble this year before the decision was made to go with Charlotte Flair instead.

To further her push, Baszler was slated to go over Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 36 as well to capitalize on her Royal Rumble victory (had it happened). Obviously, even though Baszler did go on to challenge Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 36 anyway, the end result had Becky going over to retain the title. Vince McMahon nixed the idea of Baszler going over at WrestleMania (supposedly) due to the lack of fans at ringside.

This is a bit contradictory on Vince’s part considering he had no problem on letting Drew McIntyre go over Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship with no fans in attendance. With that being said, the question remains: Should Vince have given Shayna Baszler the same treatment?
