The City of Orlando, Florida is bidding to host the 2024 WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view event, reports WESH.
The Tourist Development Tax Sports Incentive Committee of Orange County, Florida is requesting $850,000 for the Greater Orlando Sports Commission to bid on the 2024 WWE Royal Rumble. The bid will be made on Tuesday.
The City of Tampa, Florida was also bidding for a Royal Rumble event, possibly in 2022 or 2023, however, it’s unclear if Tampa is still in the running for next year’s Royal Rumble bid.
If Orlando’s bid is approved, the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event will emanate from the Camping World Stadium on January 27, 2024. The stadium has previously hosted WrestleMania 24 and WrestleMania 33.
Current estimates suggest that around 54,000 people could potentially attend next year’s Royal Rumble with an economic impact of $28 million.
