According to reports, many people backstage within WWE are “stunned” and “shocked” by the size of Chris Jericho’s new contract with All Elite Wrestling. The contract isn’t considered “on par” with that of John Cena or Brock Lesnar in WWE, but would be near the top of WWE’s paylist.
As previously reported here on eWn, AEW is being funded by billionaire and Jacksonville Jaguars (NFL) co-owner Shahid Khan and he’s willing to give talents first class plane tickets, health insurance and more. Khan is reportedly spending “whatever he has to” to get the top wrestling talents in the world to sign with All Elite Wrestling. Numerous WWE talents have also requested out of their contracts and are said to be very interested in signing with AEW if the company is interested in them.
