Edge’s current contract with WWE will be expiring at the end of September, and there is some talk that he’ll be making his debut with All Elite Wrestling.

Following Friday night’s episode of WWE SmackDown, the Rated R Superstar told the crowd in Toronto that he had probably wrestled his last match for WWE in his hometown. The WWE Hall of Famer also said that he wasn’t sure where his career would go from here.

According to a report from Fightful Select, many people in AEW believe it’s a “real possibility” that Edge will be showing up after his WWE contract expires.

As you’d expect, he’d be using his real name of Adam Copeland, as the name “Edge” is trademarked by WWE. Several people close to Edge said earlier this year that AEW isn’t as “out there” as you might expect. He is said to very close to Christian Cage and FTR and has expressed interest in the past about jumping ship to end his career.

It’s worth noting that WWE has been more quiet about contract extensions and cuts in recent months. For what it’s worth, if Friday night was Edge’s last contracted match in WWE as he claims, something similar happened with Goldberg, as his deal with the company went far beyond when he last wrestled for them. Several WWE sources added that Edge had some time added on to his contract due to an injury.

Back in 2019, AEW President Tony Khan was interested in signing Edge before it was even known if he could wrestle. Edge wound up speaking directly with Vince McMahon, which resulted in his return to WWE after being cleared.
