Mercedes Varnado (also known as Sasha Banks in WWE) is expected to be at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17, and now it looks like she will be making more appearances for the promotion.
As previously reported here on eWn, Banks is expected to appear on the show on January 4. Banks and Naomi walked out in the middle of RAW back in May. Although WWE and Banks had talked about a new contract, her current deal is slated to expire at the end of this year as they were far apart on money.
During the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that “The Boss” is done with WWE. She hasn’t signed a contract with NJPW yet but has verbally agreed to this upcoming appearance and working more dates.
WWE may freeze her deal or give her the money she wants to prevent her from going to NJPW or AEW. The possibility of her going to AEW and whether she will be Saraya’s mystery partner on January 11th on AEW Dynamite is unknown.
Meltzer said that Banks is “done with WWE,” although that “could change at any moment.”
