As noted, Ric Flair is set to wrestle his supposed final match this weekend in Nashville, TN as part of Starrcast V.
During an interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, former WWE Superstar Ricardo Rodriguez explained why he’s in support of The Nature Boy wanting to wrestle one final match. He compares the need to wrestle to that of an addiction.
“I’m excited for him. I can tell you firsthand… that itch of wrestling never goes away. In my head, I contemplated leaving wrestling so many times but I know myself. I can’t, I can’t. As Eddie Guerrero once put it – ‘Yeah I’m an addict. I’m addicted to the high. I’m addicted to the rush, the adrenaline, the people.’ That’s what gets me. That’s what keeps me coming back. This is one addiction I’m okay with and that’s pro wrestling.”
Flair will team up with his son-in-law, Andrade El Idolo, to take on Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal at Sunday’s event. The Nature Boy has said that he plans on hanging up his wrestling boots for good after this final outing.
