Following his suspension from All Elite Wrestling, CM Punk’s status within the company has been up in the air. After his infamous rant at the All Out 2022 media scrum and the subsequent ‘brawl out’ incident, CM Punk was suspended from All Elite Wrestling and stripped of his title.
Ever since, his status with the company has been up in the air. Ahead of him challenging MJF for the AEW World Championship, “Absolute” Ricky Starks seems to have provided an update on the matter during a recent interview.
During a recent interview with DAZN, the AEW wrestler opened up on Punk’s status within the company. He had nothing but positive words for the two-time AEW World Champion. He also went on to praise William Regal.
Starks also shared his disappointment over the fact that neither of them were a part of AEW anymore.
“I thought Punk, [William] Regal, these people that came in were great additions to the locker room… I know, personally, I was able to talk to Punk a lot and get help on my promos and things like that. Same with Regal, because I’ve known him for so long. It was kind of a blow that both of these guys left,” Ricky Starks said.
He further shared his frustration on not getting a dream match with the Best in the World, saying,
