During the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer commented on R-Truth’s promo on WWE SmackDown! Live where he referred to John Cena as his “hero.” As you’d imagine, several fans immediately began speculating that a John Cena vs. R-Truth match was being planned for WrestleMania 35. According to reports, that is “absolutely not” going to happen. Of course, take that quote with a grain of salt.
As of this writing, there is no word on who Cena’s opponent will be, but it’s likely going to be with new United States champion Samoa Joe. Meanwhile, Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles is “very likely” for WrestleMania 35. The reason Orton vs. Styles was not added to the WWE Fastlane pay-per-view event is because it is being saved for WrestleMania 35.
Daniel Bryan vs. Kofi Kingston is also said to be being saved for WrestleMania 35 but it depends on the reaction Kofi receives in the coming weeks.
