Bam Bam Bigelow’s efforts during his WrestleMania 11 match with football legend Lawrence Taylor led to this being the ‘match of the night,’ according to Sabu.
During a recent edition of his “Sabu Speaks” podcast, the ECW veteran recalled the match and argued that the bout was better than he could have ever expected. He said,
“If you ever watch that match, him and Lawrence Taylor, he made that match. That was a great match for a guy who had never wrestled before, Lawrence Taylor. Great match. I couldn’t believe how good it was. I watched Taylor because I heard about that. It was good, and it was a match of the night and all that, so I had to see it. And then, when I seen it, I couldn’t believe it.”
The main event of WrestleMania 11, considered among fans as one of the worst WrestleManias ever, saw Taylor get the win in his first and only wrestling match.
Post-match, Taylor would be carried out by several football stars as ‘L.T.’ had exerted all his energy during the near-12-minute match.
